As a little girl, my fantasy was to be surrounded by gorgeous, cheerful, fresh flowers. I just knew my home would have flowers everywhere - huge vases filled with buds and blooms of every color and shape. Can’t you just smell the sweet scent of freesia,  roses, and sweet peas?  My guests would remember their visits like lavish retreats, the beauty a reminder of my hospitality and graceful elegance. 

And then I got allergies and a black thumb. Not sure which came first, to be honest. But nothing I plant survives, and even if it did, I couldn’t enjoy looking at it through watery, itchy eyes.
