Feel the Crisp in the Air with Fall Color
Arrangements.
The air is crisp. The colors of the leaves are changing - red,
gold, ora nge and
yellow. Fall harvest festivals have begun, and the
oppression of the hot summer has passed.
Crunching through the leaves leaves you feeling satisfied;
squirrels scamper about, madly getting ready for the winter.
The kids are all back in school, leaving a desolate yet calm
feel to mid-day around town.
There
are smells, too. Leaf piles burning, the sweet and tart of
fresh apples and the clean, warm scent of hayrides are all
in the air, mingled with a slight hint of winter, yet to
come.
If this is your favorite time of year, as it is for so many
folks, you undoubtedly would enjoy bringing some of Fall inside
your home. Now is about the time that cinnamon brooms begin to
appear; they make a great start to decorating your home for
Fall.
Silk flower color
arrangements are nice to bring in, and change if you’ve
already got some out from the summer season. The change of
the seasons is a great time to change your flower
arrangements and bouquets which you may have scattered
throughout your home. You can bring out some old favorites
and augment your décor with some new ones.
Flowers are nice at any
time of year, but a gorgeous Fall color wreath hanging on your
front door is sure to tell all comers (and the neighbors, too!)
that Fall has arrived, and that you love everything about it.
Fall flowers, like mums, grasses and grains, even acorns make
great additions to a beautiful, welcoming Fall wreath.
If you love a monochromatic look, then Fall is the time for
you. You can include arrangements around the house and even out
on the front porch that stick to a basic Fall color palette -
reds and oranges, or golds, yellows and browns.
If you enjoy mixing it up a bit, try some other flowers which
might not seem like traditional “Fall blooms” but are,
nonetheless. Some of these are
- Asters (small, delicate daisy-type flowers in pink, lilac,
and rose)
- Helenium (another daisy-type flower, with a larger center and
blunt, yellow
petals)
- Goldenrod (for a bright golden color, and length of stems to
add variety in
height)
- Russian Sage (a gorgeous lavender color, it’s another one to
give height to an
arrangement.)
Don’t be afraid to try offerings of nature that aren’t
technically flowers. Grasses ,
especially grain heads make for especially attractive
members of any bouquet or arrangement. Acorns and other
nuts also give dimension and draw the eye. Gourds, garlic
heads and even dried peppers can add a unique element to
event the most elegant design.
No matter how you choose to decorate for the Fall season, there
is a look out there for you. So go ahead and express yourself
with beautiful Fall color bouquets and arrangements for you
home. The effect will be beautiful!
