Show the Real You: Interior Decorating with Silk
Flowers.
You’ve made the decision that it’s time to give your room a new
look. While you aren’t interested at this time in painting or
buying new or reupholstering your old furniture, you can see
the benefit of making a change. Mix up the room by rearranging
the furniture. Bring something out of a back bedroom into the
living room. See if your can come up with new uses for old
things.
But, even the most creative “re-user” craves a bit of freshness
when decorating an interior space. Buying silk flowers and
arranging them to fit your personality and the theme of your
home is a great way to achieve a new look without breaking the
bank.
Purchase only arrangements and flowers that are made well. They
are put together well, and seem sturdy. Pieces aren’t loose or
falling off. Colors are realistic and not over the top or, on
the other hand, too subdued or washed out. Simply stated, the
flowers or arrangements look just right. They appear completely
realistic. While your guests probably realize that you didn’t
pick fresh Stargazer Lilies straight out of your garden in the
dead of winter, they will appreciate how natural and real they
look.
Decorating your home with silk flowers and silk flower
arrangements bring a bit of the outdoors inside. This is
especially helpful if your green thumb tends to be more yellow
or brownish rather than a bright, grassy green. If whatever you
touch tends to turn from living to brown and crispy pretty
quick, using silks is a great way to continue to enjoy the
natural beauty of flowers without worrying about killing
them.
While loads of us would love to have an extensive, beautiful
cutting garden from which we could bring in armloads of
blossoms every day, the truth of the matter is that we do not.
Perhaps work takes precedence, or maybe you live in an urban
area with little to no green space to call your own. You might
have pressing family concerns - a bunch of little ones running
around, or an older parent who requires your care and
attention.
With priorities such as these, it’s no wonder you don’t have
time to spend kneeling in your garden. Maybe, like so many
people, you once had a beautiful garden, but some of the
responsibilities mentioned above have put your outdoor plans on
an indefinite hold. If so, then decorating with silk flowers
may just be enough to put your garden lust on hold for a bit.
Go ahead and get some silk versions of the plants and flowers
you would normally enjoy growing in the great outdoors and
bring them inside, instead. Or, if you prefer, get some that
would not normally grow in your area. You can enjoy some plants
this way that no one would see in your dream garden, if you had
it.
Decorating your home with silk flowers and arrangements is a
good idea. You can bring the beauty of the outdoors in, and
surround yourself with the glories of nature.
