Silk Flower Wreaths are Well-RoundedJacinda LIttle
Silk Flowers and Plants Don’t Have to Cross the Threshold

A door wreath boasting silk flowers not only welcomes guests, it dresses up the exterior of your home and receives you after a busy day. Nothing says “come in for a spell” better than a stylish and realistic silk flower wreath.

Most wreaths are considered seasonal, and are meant to be rotated.

o Spring silk flower wreaths might include flowers like tulips or crocuses, or might serve to usher in the Easter season with Easter Eggs and bunnies.

o Summer wreaths look best when they include wildflowers, roses, sunflowers, or any other sunny reminder of warm weather.

o Autumn wreaths can be cornucopias of cool weather treats, including mini gourds and pumpkins, along with fall leaves and mums.

o Winter wreaths can be used to welcome the holidays, or to celebrate evergreens, poinsettias, and winter berries.

Changing your seasonal wreaths keeps the exterior of your home looking fresh and current, and lets your neighbors know that you’re on the job.

The Silk Flower Wreath Advantage

There aren’t many viable options for your front or back door wreath…except, of course, the silk flower one.

Dried flowers disintegrate, fade quickly, and the color can run in humid, rainy, or snowy conditions. Plastic wreaths fade quickly and look like something your grandmother may have owned (sorry Nana). Natural flower wreaths look great, but only for a day.

On the flip side of outdoor decorating, silk flower wreaths will offer warm welcomes for years to come.

Care and Storage of your Silk Flower Wreaths

Before stowing away your silk flower wreath, give it a once-over with a feather duster or hairdryer to loosen any dust, pollen, or other pollutants that it may have gathered. A spray with silk flower cleaner, compressed air, or hairspray also works well. You can also rinse the wreath with water and hang it to dry (after testing the colorfastness of its components).

More wreath storage options are available today than ever before.

o Circular plastic containers offer crush-proof storage. Some come with clear or translucent lids for easy viewing. These plastic gems are the best options when you consider their ability to protect wreaths from dust, crushing, and critters.

o Cardboard storage boxes offer a degree of protection from crushing, and perfect protection from dust. Critters could, however, make their ways in through the cardboard.

o Wreath bags are constructed from canvas, which will keep your wreath clean, but could also leave it susceptible to crushing.

No matter the method with which you choose to store your wreaths, always avoid storage locations that are extremely dry, extremely humid, very cold, or very hot. Room temperature with moderate humidity is always best.

If you plan to rotate seasonal wreaths, and have four of them, purchasing three storage containers would make the most sense. You’ll always have a place for the three that aren’t gracing a door.

The Wreath Wrap-Up

Don’t even think of hammering a nail, or screwing a hanger, into your door. Instead, check into all of the various non-destructive wreath hanging devices on the market. There are hangers that can be placed over the tops of doors, and magnets for glass doors, among others.

In conclusion, silk flowers for your front, back, and side door wreaths are best. They may fade a bit over time if displayed in direct sunlight, but are absolutely the most versatile and long lasting choice, by miles.

Welcome guests. Mark your house as home. Ring in the seasons and celebrate holidays. Tell the world of your good taste and love of realistic silk flowers and plants. Display a silk flower wreath, and know that you’ve made a sound investment…in a quality product, and in your home’s curb appeal.
